The new Bajaj Pulsar 200SS bike that is expected to hit Indian showrooms in March, 2015 was seen at a Bajaj dealership. It is still not clear, whether the dealership is in India or any other international market. What will build curiosity for the bike is the ‘saree guard’, which is an essential accessory in Indian bikes. The bike is expected to come with a price tag of around Rs. 1.5 lakh and after its launch in India, it will compete with KTM RC200, Hero Karizma R and Yamaha YZF-R15.
The fully faired bike is quite similar to the spy images that has been seen earlier. Powering the Bajaj Pulsar 200SS is the same engine that does duty on the Pulsar 200NS. The engine powering the 200NS produces 23.52PS of power @9,500rpm and 18.3Nm of torque @8,000rpm. And is expected to come mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The new Pulsar 200SS is also expected to get an ABS ring and fuel injection technology.
The Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS had made its first public appearance in a dealer meet in Turkey in late 2014. Having derived the sharp edged design from the SS 400, the Pulsar 200 SS sports twin projector headlamps with eyebrow-like LED DRLs, sleek turn indicators, clip-on handlebar, two-piece taillight and split seats.
