Ford India is all set for the launch of the next generation Ford Figo hatchback and compact sedan in the second quarter of 2015. The set of hatchback and sedan will replace the current Ford Figo and Ford Fiesta Classic. While the Figo hatchback will take inspiration from the Brazilian Ford Ka and the Ka concept, the compact sedan will be based on the Ford Figo Concept sedan (shown at the Auto Expo, 2014).
The 2015 Ford Figo will get a new petrol engine. The 1.2 litre petrol engine will be replaced by a 1-litre petrol engine based on Ford’s EcoBoost architecture. The 1.5 litre diesel engine will be tuned to deliver more torque and efficiency.
The Ford Figo hatchback was recently spied in India and its production is expected to commence from 15th February at the company’s manufacturing facility in Sanand, Gujarat.
