2015 Honda Activa 3G launched at Rs. 48, 852

A company backed by Nest co-founder Tony Fadell is taking Andy Rubin's startup to court.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) today launched the 2015 Activa 3G that is priced at Rs. 48, 852 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new automatic scooter from Honda gets new styling elements and many new updates that include front stance, winkers, side panels, tail light and a new 3D logo on either sides. The Activa 3G will be more spacious as it will offer ample foot space, longer and wider seat, which means that riding will be more comfortable and convenient and a comfortable sitting position.

The Activa 3G sports full metal body, tubeless tyres and a combined braking system (CBS). Powering the Activa 3G will be a 110cc engine with HET (Honda Eco Technology) that ensures a mileage of 60 kms per litre. The single cylinder engine produces 8 PS of power and 8.74 Nm of torque. It is available with a CVT.

The 2015 Honda Activa 3G scooter will be available in 5 colour options that include Lusty Red Metallic, Black, Pearl Amazing White, Geny Grey Metallic and Trance Blue Metallic.

Last year, HMSI has announced its plans to launch 10 new products in 2015, of which 7 would be new products and 3 would be refreshed models. But HMSI announced its surprise package of launching 15 new models this year. Now, the company plans to launch 7 new products and 8 new models with cosmetic upgrades.

Honda Activa was first launched in India in 2000 and in 2009, the new version of Activa featuring a new 109 cc engine was launched. In 2013, Honda launched the Activa-i, a stylish and sleek variant of Honda Activa and in 2014, the company launched an upgraded variant of Activa with 125cc engine. The model was rebranded as Activa 125.
