Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI), today unveiled the 2015 Honda Dream Yuga and Honda Dream Neo. The company has not yet revealed details related to the prices of the updated versions of the motorcycles.
The company has unveiled the 2015 Honda Dream Yuga with minor updates like new graphic styling on the fuel tank, front cowl, side panel and the red Honda logo on the engine. The bike will be positioned in the commuter motorcycle segment and will be one of the 15 launches that the company has planned for this year.
“With India contribution reaching 25% of global Honda motorcycle sales this year; India is and will remain Honda’s priority market globally. However, I consider 50 lakh units to be the turning point of Honda in India. In FY 2015-16, Honda is taking the next leap of business expansion. We will be bigger with new manufacturing capabilities and aggressively growing network in the hinterlands, better at customer satisfaction and bolder with our introduction of ever highest 15 new models in just one year,” says Keita Muramatsu, President & CEO, HMSI.
The 100cc bike will be powered by a single cylinder engine that churns out 8 bhp and 9 Nm that is mated to a 4-speed transmission. The engine that is available with the HET (Honda Eco Technology) delivers a fuel efficiency of 74 kms per litre.
The 2015 Honda Dream Yuga will be available in three different colour options- black, black with red stripes and black with violet stripes. The dealer dispatches for the bike will start towards the end of February. On India roads, the 2015 Honda Dream Yuga will compete with Bajaj Discover 100M, TVS Star City Plus and Hero Splendor.
HMSI also unveiled the 2015 Honda Dream Neo, which will also feature new graphics styling on the side panel, fuel tank and side cowl and it will also feature the red Honda logo on the engine, just like the 2015 Dream Yuga.
For easy accessibility to the compartment behind, the Dream Neo gets a lockable side cowl. When launched first in 2013, the Dream Neo was the first motorcycle to get the HET (Honda Eco Technology). Powering the Dream Neo is a 110 cc single-cylinder engine that produces 8 bhp and 9 Nm that comes mated to a 4-speed transmission.
The 2015 Honda Dream Neo will come with two colour options-Black/Red and Black/Violet and will reach Indian markets by the end of this month.
Last year, HMSI had announced its plans to launch 7 new products and some refreshed products. Surprisingly, the company today announced its plans to launch 15 new models in 2015.
As per company’s current plans, 7 new products will be launched this year and 8 models will be launched with cosmetic upgrades.
In December 2014, HMSI had launched the Honda CB Unicorn 160 aiming to tap a bigger market share in the medium weight bikes segment.
