Honda India’s plans to launch the redesigned Honda Jazz in 2015 is known to most of the car enthusiasts. Honda Jazz that was launched in 2009 is going to re-style itself to lure more customers. The 2015 Honda Jazz is expected to be priced from Rs. 5 lakhs in India.
The 2015 Honda Jazz will be available in petrol variant. The Jazz CVT will also feature steering mounted paddle shifters, just like the Honda City.
A 1.2 liter i-VTEC petrol engine of the 2015 Honda Jazz will be mated to a 5 speed manual transmission or the CVT. The diesel variant will be powered by a 1.5 liter i-DTEC turbo diesel motor which can be mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox.
The new Honda Jazz will be equipped with paddle shifters and that makes the car the first one in the hatchback segment to get paddle shifters. Other high end hatchbacks like the BMW 1-Series, Mini Cooper models, Mercedes A-class, B-class also have paddle shifters but their price starts from Rs. 25 lakhs.
The Honda Jazz models that have CVT automatic transmission will cost about Rs. 1 lakh more than the manual transmission model. Inorder to make the 2015 Honda Jazz affordable, Honda India plans to localize the components used in Jazz. The upcoming car from Honda India will be manufactured in Honda’s factory, either in Greater Noida or in Tapukara in Rajasthan.
