UPDATE: Hyundai will launch the 2015 i20 Active on March 17.
Hyundai Motor India revealed the official sketches of the upcoming Hyundai i20 Active (formerly named the i20 Cross) today. The upcoming crossover has been designed at the company’s Design Centre in Europe in Russelsheim, Germany and it all set to make its official global debut in India next month.
Based on the i20 platform, the i20 Active was recently spied without wraps. The new i20 Active adopts a ‘Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language’ that adds on to the car’s sharper, sportier and bold looks. The side profile of the crossover SUV makes it look athletic and the roof rails adds on to the rugged look of the car.
Once launched in March, 2015, the i20 Active will compete with Toyota Etios Cross and Fiat Avventura. The Korean car maker is all set to launch the iX25 in India, however, the company has built this auto product for developing countries like India and China and does not intend to roll it out in developed markets. Hyundai also plans to introduce a new MPV for the Indian market in 2016.
2014 has been a good year for Hyundai as the company recorded good sales figure. For 2015, the company aims at having its offering in each segment. The Korean company has recently launched its Hyundai 4S Fluidic Verna.
