Hyundai is in plans to sell the upcoming iX25 only in developing countries like India and China. According to a report on Motoring publication, the European and the Australian subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company, do not intend to introduce the Hyundai iX25 in developed markets like Europe and Australia.
The Motoring report has quoted a senior Hyundai source, saying, the iX25 was designed and developed for markets like India, China and it will not be feasible to quickly reconfigure it for developed markets like Europe and Australia. At the 2014 Beijing Auto Show, Hyundai Motors has unveiled the pre-production concept of the iX25.
Hyundai Motors plans to introduce a new compact SUV that will be positioned between the iX25 and new Tucson. It has been reported earlier that, the Australian subsidiary of the Korean car maker is concerned about the crash worthiness of Indian Hyundai models, for which it had rejected the India made Elite i20.
Nicola Danza, who has designed the new Tucson, confirmed Motoring publication that there will be a new SUV under Tucson, however, further details about the SUV was not revealed.
In India, Hyundai iX25 is expected to be launched in the festive season this year. The Indian subsidiary of Hyundai Motors Company is likely to continue with the same engines that is found under the hood of the 2015 Verna 4S.
The India bound 2015 Hyundai iX25 compact SUV bagged 5/5 stars in the C-NCAP crash test in China. Hyundai iX25 that will be positioned against Renault Duster, Ford EcoSport and Nissan Terrano in India. Expected to be one of the biggest launch from Hyundai Motors, the company has reportedly pumped in Rs. 1,000 crore in this project.
