After having launched the facelifted version of Maruti Swift hatchback, Maruti Suzuki seems to be in plans to launch the updated version of Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire. Maruti Suzuki was recently caught by GaadiWaadi while it was testing the updated version of Maruti Dzire. The company plans to launch the updated Dzire in the first quarter of this financial year. The updated version of Maruti Dzire is expected to be priced between Rs. 5 lakhs to Rs. 7.5 lakhs.
Beautifying the front fascia of the 2015 Dzire will be a redesigned front bumper with chrome enclosing the fog lights (this will only be available for the top-spec variants) and new grille. Looking at the previous spy pics that had surfaced online, we can decipher that some variants could also be available with smoked headlight clusters and a new body color.
The side profile gets new multi spoke alloy wheels and the changes in the rear side is expected to be marked by a mildly updated bumper and a new chrome strip.
The interiors are likely to be featured by power folding wing mirrors, keyless entry with push button start and a Bluetooth enabled music system.
The updated Swift Dzire is likely to be updated by a 1.3-litre diesel and a 1.2-liter petrol engine. The engines are expected to be finetuned to extract more fuel economy.
Being an old player in the compact sedan segment, Dzire is one of the products of Maruti Suzuki that records good sales figures (many times it also surpasses the sales figures of Maruti Alto). Last year, Maruti Suzuki had recorded an average monthly sales of Dzire at 17,518 units per month last year.
Upon its launch in India, the Maruti Dzire will compete with Honda Amaze, 2015 Ford Figo sedan, Hyundai Xcent, Tata Zest.
Maruti is also working towards launching the facelifted version of Maruti Ertiga and the SX4 S-Cross in 2015. Recently, Maruti Suzuki had expressed that it is quite positive about recording good sales numbers in 2015 despite the rollback of reduced excise duties and rising inputs costs.
Will the updated Dzire, the upcoming Ertiga facelift and the SX4 S-Cross make 2015 a great year for Maruti Suzuki India?
