Last year, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz had become an instant hit when it was launched to compete with Honda City. The company offered some premium features in the sedan at much lesser price compared to its competitors and lured a lot of buyers from other brands.
To strengthen its position in the market, Maruti Suzuki has launched an upgraded top end variant, Ciaz Z+ in both petrol and diesel variants. While the petrol (ZXi+) variant will be priced at Rs. 9.08 lakhs, the diesel (ZDi+) variant will be priced at Rs. 10.37 lakhs.
The engine specifications and the design of the new Ciaz model will continue to be same, however, the 2015 Ciaz Z+ gets some add-ons in terms of styling (features more premium look), latest gizmos and new 16-inch alloys. The interiors feature a 7-inch SmartPlay infotainment system with voice command and navigation, leather strapped steering wheel and new premium leather upholstery.
The Ciaz Z+ will continue to be powered by the same 1.4-litre petrol engine that produces 98bhp and 130Nm of torque and a 1.3-litre diesel engine that produces 88.5bhp and 200Nm of torque. Both the engines will be mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. As per the company’s claim, the petrol variant will deliver 20.73 kms per litre and the diesel variant will deliver a fuel economy of 26.3 kms per litre.
Despite having launched the top end variant, Ciaz will cost lesser than Honda City. Honda City’s top-end diesel version costs around Rs. 11.60 lakhs and its top end petrol version will be costlier than Ciaz Z+ by Rs. 2 lakhs.
