2015 Mercedes Benz C220 CDI launched in India

Mercedes Benz has launched the 2015 Mercedes Benz C220 CDI for the Indian market. The launch of this car marks the expansion of the range of new Mercedes Benz C-Class in India. The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C220 CDI will be available in Style and Avantgarde variants that is priced at Rs. 39.90 lakh and Rs. 42.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively.

The luxury car will be available in diesel variant as many luxury car buyers prefer the diesel variant. The C220 CDI will be powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that dishes out 170PS and 400Nm and as per the company’s claim, it can accelerate from 0-100kmph within 7.4 seconds. It will be available with a 7G-Tronic gearbox.

Mercedes Benz C220 CDI launched at Rs. 39.90 lakh

Currently, the C220 CDI powered by a diesel engine is imported to India as Completely Built Units (CBUs) and the Mercedes Benz C200 (petrol variant) will be assembled in the country at the company’s manufacturing facility in Chakan near Pune and will be priced at Rs. 40.90 lakh.

In terms of cabin layout and exterior design, Mercedes-Benz C-Class has got inspiration from Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

To ensure safety, the Mercedes-Benz C220 features seven airbags, Attention Assist, hill assist, Pre-Safe and tyre pressure monitoring system, ASR, ABS, Brake Assist and ESP. The diesel variant of Mercedes Benz C-Class delivers a fuel efficiency of 19.27 kms per litre.
