Mercedes Benz India is in plans to launch the C220 CDI, its diesel variant sometime around the end of February. The company had launched its 2015 C-Class with a single petrol variant, last year in November. The diesel C-Class will be sold through the CBU route and the CKD operations are expected to start in the coming months. The price of the Mercedes Benz C220 CDI is expected to be at around Rs. 42 lakh.
The new 2015 C-Class design has been inspired from the S-Class and it is longer, wider and lighter than the previous model that it replaces. The design largely emphasizes on the squat and broad stance of the car that gives it an elegant and athletic look and the soft edge blends well into the taillights.
The interiors of the new 2015 C-Class sport the “Cobra look” sporty front seats that are covered with ARTICO man-made leather with essential head restraint can be adjusted as per height. The infotainment system consists of 3D Navigation, networking facility with mobile devices via Bluetooth. The infotainment system also features Garmin MAP PILOT sat-nav that works in combination with the Audio 20 CD, a map data from a SD card with navigation software and Mercedes Benz Radio (a Mercedes Benz app).
The C220 CDI will be powered by a 2.2 liter diesel engine that produces 170 HP of power and 400 Nm of torque and will be available with a 7G-Tronic transmission.
