This latest generation of our flagship will appeal to new groups of customers in the business and private sector. The qualities of the Superb emphasize the brand’s values and point to the future of Skoda,” says Prof. Dr. H.C Winfried Vahland, CEO, Skoda.
Besides getting new engines and transmission options, the new Skoda Superb might share mechanics with the new Volkswagen Passat (B8). As per the company, the Skoda Superb has undergone its testing phase and will be launched in UK by mid-2015.
The car is 50 mm wider, 20 mm longer and 75 kgs lighter than the existing model. Skoda Superb buyers could expect more space for themselves as the car will come with an 80mm longer wheelbase. The Skoda Superb will get a new design with the bonnet slightly extending and overlapping the grille at the front. The grille will come with horizontal slats and is bordered by sleek headlights with LED daytime running lights (DRLs). The side profile has sharply outlined creases with Volkswagen Passat like roof and strong shoulder line that merges smoothly with the tail. The New Skoda Superb will also sport a new touch-screen infotainment system and a MirrorLink pairing system from Skoda.
The new model could offer a boot space of 625-litres that can be increased up to 1,760-litres by folding the rear seats. The new model is expected to be better than its predecessors in terms of spacious cabin, advanced equipment and premium quality.
The new Skoda Superb will continue getting its power from the 2.0-litre diesel engine producing maximum power of 170bhp. The options for an automatic DSG transmission and 6-speed manual gearbox will remain the same.
