2015 Suzuki Vitara SUV launched in UK at Rs. 13.44 lakhs
Unveiled first at the Paris Motor Show in October, 2014, the Suzuki Vitara SUV has been launched in United Kingdom at a price tag ranging from 13,999 GBP (Rs. 13.44 lakhs) to 21,299 GBP (Rs. 21.11 lakhs).
The Vitara will be powered by a 1.6-liter petrol or diesel engine. While the 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol engine produces 120 hp and 156 Nm of torque, the diesel variant produces 120 hp and 320 Nm of torque. The engines come mated to a 6-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual gearbox for the petrol variant and a 6-speed manual gearbox will be available for the diesel variant. All variants will be available with a standard front wheel drive or an all-wheel drive i.e optional.
While the base variant of the Suzuki Vitara sports 16-inch alloys, cruise control, seven airbags, projector headlamps, USB and Bluetooth connectivity and automatic AC, the top end variants are available with 17-inch alloy wheels, adaptive cruise control, panoramic sunroof, LED projector headlights, radar-based brake system, keyless entry with an engine starter button and suede seat fabrics.
High ground clearance and large diameter wheels offered by the SUV makes it an off-roader. The bold shape rendered to the instrument panel garnish and the U-shape design around the shift lever deciphers the toughness of the SUV.
Suzuki might launch the Vitara in the Indian market after the launch of Maruti Suzuki SX4 S-Cross that is scheduled to be launched in May, 2015 and its compact SUV in early 2016. Suzuki Vitara was first launched in 1988 and the SUV is adored for its stylish yet city oriented designs and its comfortable on-road and off road performance. The Vitara series has evolved in the course of time with the company finetuning the SUV’s exterior design and powertrain.
If Vitara is launched in India, will it lure the SUV buyers from Tata Safari, Toyota Fortuner. Mahindra XUV 500? What is your opinion?
