2015 VW Touran revealed ahead of 2015 Geneva Motor Show

Volkswagen has revealed its Touran ahead of the 2015 Geneva motor Show that is scheduled to be held next month. The 2015 Touran will be available to order this summer with its first deliveries in UK to happen in November, 2015.

According to a report on Autocar Professional, the Touran, that is based on Volkswagen’s MQB platform will be positioned between the new Golf SV and the spacious seven seater Sharan MPV. The looks of 2015 Touran has taken inspiration from the new Passat and the Golf SV. The interiors get generous space and provides a premium ambience. The Touran is 12 cm longer and its wheelbase is 11 cm longer than the model that it has replaced.

The new model will be made available in both five seat and seven seat versions and the cabin gets foldable seating arrangement, wherein, the seats can be dropped to create a flat floor. The 2015 comes equipped with a lot of safety features that include adaptive cruise control, pre-crash proactive occupant protection, autonomous emergency braking and the automatic post-collision braking assistant comes as standard.

The infotainment system will be fully integrated with both Android and Apple smartphones that will enable advanced phone functionality. The UK bound models will be available in three diesel and two petrol variants.

The new Touran will be available with a 1.2-litre TSI turbo petrol engine and 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine. The diesel variants will be powered by the 1.6 TDI and 148bhp, 187bhp 2.0-litre diesel powermills.
