The second generation Audi Q7 was caught testing in Mumbai. The spy images, published first by Shifting-Gears, reveals a lot of changes that has been incorporated to the upcoming 2016 Audi Q7.
The second generation Audi Q7 is expected to weigh 1,995 kg (lighter by 325 kgs from its predecessor). The 2016 Audi Q7 is expected to get a length of 5,050mm, width of 1,970mm, height of 1,740mm and a wheelbase of 2,990mm.
Some changes could also be expected in the powertrain. The India bound Audi Q7 will be offered with a 3-litre petrol and diesel engines (both of them being turbocharged V6 units) in India. While the petrol engine produces 333 hp of power and 440 Nm or torque, the diesel mill churns out 272 hp of power and 600 Nm torque. Both the engines are expected to be more efficient than the previous versions. While the diesel engine is expected to be 26 percent more efficient, the petrol engine is expected to be 23 percent more efficient. The eight-speed gearbox and the Quattro All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system will come standard with the car.
Based on VW MLB platform, the 2016 Audi Q7 is expected to come with a lot of added features. The upcoming Audi Q7 is expected to sport numerous features that include single frame front grille, multi-spoke alloy wheels, dual exhaust tips, dynamic turn signals in tail lamp, headlamps with a choice of Xenon, LED and Matrix LED, silver roof rails, sharkfin antenna, rear fog lamps integrated in the bumper, small roof spoiler.
The interiors are likely to sport Pop-up MMI screen with new MMI all-in-touch control, TFT screen for instrument cluster, Bose 3D stereo system / Bang and Olufsen 3D stereo system, 10.1″ screens for rear passengers (optional), new steering wheel with silver accents and electric sunroof. Besides that, features like cruise control, park assist, rest recommendation, ABS, EBD, BA, cross traffic assist and Audi pre sense are on board.
