Unlike many car makers, BMW chose not to go under wraps before the official launch of the next generation, 2016 BMW 7 Series. BMW killed the curiosity of most of the car enthusiasts who found the 2016 BMW 7 series undisguised. The 2016 BMW 7 Series will make its public debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September, 2015.
It will be constructed with carbon fiber reinforced plastic, high strength steels, aluminum and magnesium, in order to make it lighter than the current model. The BMW 7 Series will shed 170 kgs over the current model.
The 2016 BMW 7 series seems to have taken some inspiration from the BMW Vision Luxury Concept (showcased at the Beijing Auto Show, 2014). The car sports slimmer head lamps that employ laser technology and the kidney grille is expected to be bigger than the current 7-er. In terms of technology that has been used both inside and outside the car seems to be very impressive than any of the BMW models launched so far. While the C-pillar retains the traditional Hofmeister kink, the sides are expected to get some familiar touches.
Powering the BMW 7 series will be two hybrid, one diesel and four gasoline engines that will ensure lower fuel consumption and more power. The BMW 7 series will also be available with a new 9-speed gearbox.
