2016 Ford Endeavour spied without camouflage; to reach India by end of 2015
The 2016 Ford Endeavour has been caught without wraps while it was allegedly going through its final stages of testing in Thailand. Ford Motors will start production of the new Endeavour (or Everest, as it is named in China) in their manufacturing facilities in Thailand and China, this year. The company will bring the 2016 Endeavour in CKD kits and assemble it at its manufacturing facility in Chennai.
Ford has announced three engine options (two diesel and one petrol) for the 2016 Ford Endeavour. Powering the petrol variant will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the base diesel variant will be powered by a 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine while the top end engine will be powered by a 3.2-liter five-cylinder diesel engine. The engines will come mated to a manual and an automatic gearbox (Ford will take a call on this after witnessing the market requirement) and the SUV will be offered with 2WD and 4WD.
The 2016 Ford Endeavour will hit Indian roads by the end of this year either with one or two diesel variants. In India, the new Ford Endeavour is expected to be priced between Rs. 20 lakhs to Rs. 25 lakhs and will compete with Hyundai Santa Fe, Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MU-7, Ssangyong Rexton and Honda CR-V.
