Bajaj has launched their all-new100-cc commuter motorbike for 2017. The new Platina ComforTec now features a LED DRL to meet the new government regulation. Priced at Rs.46, 656 (ex-showroom Delhi), the motorcycle features some more cosmetic changes as well. Bajaj rights that the low power intake of this LED unit will help it bring a higher mileage than other AHO (Automatic Headlamp On) equipped bikes. Other than the addition of the DRL, the motorbike leftovers mostly unchanged. It continues to use the basic commuter styling with a few updates.
The 2017 variant gets a reshaped instrument cluster that continues to use an analogue speedometer, odometer gauges and fuel. However, the cluster has a new look to it.
The popular commuter motorbike also features a new graphic scheme and will be obtainable in only 2 colour options – cocktail wine with red graphics and ebony black with silver graphics. The Platina continues to use the same 102-cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 8.2hp of power at 7,500 rpm and 8.6Nm of torque at 5,000rpm. The motor is mated to a four-speed gearbox that helps the bike reach a claimed top speed of 90kph and cover 96.9km on a litre of fuel. In terms of competition, the Bajaj Platina ComforTec goes up against the TVS Star City, Hero Splendor, Mahindra Centuro and Honda Dream CD110.
