2017 BMW 7-Series, 3-Series and X-1 launched in India

BMW India has brought in 3 new offerings spread across 3 of its most significant models sold in India. And that’s not all as the German car maker has also made changes in some of the variants of the different models sold in India. The 3 models that have received major change are the X1 SUV, 3 Series sedan and the flagship offering, the 7 Series. The flag bearer model of the German auto brand, 7 Series is now offered with a new trim called the 760Li. The company claims that this particular is the best powerful BMW ever made. We do believe that too considering that the M760Li comes with a Performance turbo petrol V-12 motor. This 6.6-litre motor puts out 610-PS at 5,250 to 6,000rpm and makes 800-Nm of torque. All of that power are sent to all wheels.

BMW claims that the 760-Li can sprint from naught to 100 kmph in mere 3.7seconds. The 760Li also comes with altered that we believe will play an impressive note from that V-12 motor. Since this one comes only in the M Performance edition, it gets a larger radiator grille. The grille, air blades and frame are all finished in metal grey. In addition, it gets M-spec 20-inch alloys again finished in grey. The side profile features M and V-12 logos to make it look distinct when associated to the regular model. Inside too there is more emphasis on V12 as the instrumentation cluster and the door sills feature the logos of the same. The 760Li V12 will set you back by Rs.2.27 crore, ex-Delhi.

Coming to the sportier BMW, the 3 Series gets a new 330i petrol trim instead of the 320i. The 320i was offered in two trims, Prestige and Luxury Line. The 330i comes in Sport Line and M Sports edition. When BMW launched the 330-GT in India, it was evident that the German car creator will add the same in the 3-Series as well. The 2-litre motor in the GT make 252-PS and 350-Nm and that is matching in the 330i sedan as well. The 330i Sport Line is priced at Rs.42.40 lakh whereas the M Performance version is available at Rs.45.90 lakh. All prices ex-Delhi.

Then comes with the entry-level SUV offering, the BMW X1. BMW has added a petrol model to the X-1 SUV. The motor doing duty in the SUV is a 2.0-litre unit that makes 191PS at 5,000rpm and generates 280Nm at 1,250 to 4,600rpm. The BMW X1 petrol is only offered in xLine trim that is priced at 35.75 lakh, ex-Delhi. The list of features offered in this trim is identical to that offered in the xLine diesel. Both these models are priced at Rs.35.75 lakh. In addition to these new trims that have been introduced in the 7 Series, 3 Series and the X1, BMW has discontinued certain variants of the 5 Series. The premium sedan is now available only in diesel as the petrol variant has been discontinued. The new gen 5-Series will be arriving in India the next couple of times.  The other variant that has been removed from the line-up is the 6-cylinder xDrive30d of the X-3 SUV.
