2017 Renault Captur will launching soon in India
Renault India was expected to launch the much awaited Captur crossover SUV in India by Diwali 2017. However, a new report suggest that the Renault Captur’s launch in India has been delayed to November 2017. That said, the reason for delay in launch of the Captur is not publicized. The company opened bookings for the crossover on 22nd September and the car can be booked at an amount of INR 25,000.
Renault India is yet to formally disclose the launch date of the Captur. Media reports suggest that the company is undecided on the pricing of the Renault Captur, something which is very important in the Indian market. The flagship present from Renault is based on the M0 platform and will be situated above the Renault Duster. Although the Captur shares its underpinnings & transmission option with the Duster, the crossover will come equipped with top-of-the-line features and build quality. Moreover, the Captur is predictable to be priced between Rs.12 lakh to Rs.15 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Renault Captur will get a range-topping Platine trim level that will come equipped with features like full-LED headlamps with floating side indicators, integrated Sapphire LED DRLs on the front bumpers and Ripple-Effect LED taillights. The car also gets 17-inch diamond cut alloy-wheels, 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system with GPS navigation, LED cabin lighting, leather upholstery and ‘Infinity’ instrument cluster. Safety features include four airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, parking sensors, reverse parking camera, ISOFIX child seat mounts and engine start/stop button among others.
Under the hood, the Renault Captur is accessible with a choice of petrol and diesel power-train options. The petrol variant gets a 1.5-litre H4K unit that produces 103 BHP of maximum power and 153 Nm of peak torque. The oil burner gets a 1.5-litre K9K diesel motor that is tuned to bring 108 BHP of power and 240 Nm of peak torque. While the petrol model comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the diesel variant is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
