Indian Scout Bobber launched in India at Rs.12.99 Lakh
Indian Motorcycles has lastly launched the Scout Bobber in India at Rs.12.99 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Scout Bobber is essentially the same as the standard Scout, but gets a sexier, evocative design. The Indian is shod with knobbly tyres, leather seats, chopped fenders, flat-track style handlebar and all of it wrapped in dark shades and blacked out bits. The tyres actually lend solid muscle to the overall look of the bike. The headlight is enclosed by a chrome nacelle while the alloy wheels have been blacked out as well. The foot pegs of the bike have been re-positioned to offer a tad more committed riding posture, which goes with the overall theme of the bike.
The bike also gets a bold new insignia with block letters on the fuel tank along with new engine covers. The smaller bar-end mirror adds to the retro charm of the bike. The telescopic forks up front are new and the rear suspension too gets a different tune and the travel has been lowered by 45 mm. The power comes from a liquid-cooled V-twin engine that makes around 99 bhp and 97.6 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine will be coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. The mechanicals remain the same as the regular Scout. The company has already started taking bookings for the Indian Scout Bobber for Rs.50, 000. The deliveries should begin in the next couple of weeks. The bike will be brought to India as a wholly constructed unit (CBU).
The Indian Scout Bobber will be going up against the likes of the newly Harley-Davidson Street Bob. This is the third model from Indian in the Scout line-up with the Indian Scout priced at Rs.12.87 lakh and the Scout Sixty priced at Rs.11.99 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). The Indian Scout is one of best-selling Indian bikes and now, with the adding of the Scout Bobber, Indian could look at an even better sales figures.
