According to a report on Auto Algerie, Hyundai Motor Algerie will display the Hyndai Xcent at the Algeria Auto Show (Salon International de I’automobile d’Alger) in March, this year. The delivery of the compact sedan will commence in the Q2 of this year.
Hyundai currently sells the Accent F/L in the Algerian market and going by various reports, it will continue until 2017. Once the company decides to discontinue the Hyundai Accent in Algeria, the presence of Xcent will help the carmakers to retain its customers.
Based on the Grand i10, the Xcent has a length of 3,995 mm, width of 1,660 mm and height of 1,520 mm. The compact sedan gets a wheelbase of 2,425 mm and a boot space of 407-litre. The Xcent will be offered with a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine that produces 83 PS and 114 Nm. It will be available with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The car sports front airbags, USB-equipped 2-DIN CD/MP3 audio system with 1 GB of internal memory, ABS, alloy wheels, air conditioner and parking sensors.
Hyundai has a wide range of products in the North African country both in passenger as well as commercial segment. In India, Xcent is Hyundai’s first offering in compact sedan segment. The five-seater compact sedan is available in both petrol and diesel variants. Built on the Grand i10 platform, the car is offered in few trim levels in India. The compact sedan is appreciated for its interiors, as the cabin size is very spacious.
