Audi India has confirmed the launch of Audi A3 Cabriolet on December 11 this year. The new Audi A3 Cabriolet was first unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo in early 2014. The India specific model of A3 Cabriolet is likely to get a 1.8-litre TFSI petrol and a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine. The petrol unit will give power output of 177bhp with 280Nm of torque and the diesel unit will give a power of 181bhp with 380Nm of torque.
The new A3 Cabriolet sports a lightweight kinematic skeleton made of magnesium steel and its roof is made of soft fabric. The automatic fabric roof can be operated electro-hydraulically in 18 seconds while the car is running at speeds upto 50 kms per hour. The interiors of the A3 Cabriolet is expected to be the same as that of the A3 sedan.
A3 Cabriolet is expected to be more expensive than the regular A3 sedan as Audi will bring the A3 Cabriolet as Completely built Units (CBUs).
