The Bajaj Pulsar SS200, the fully faired version of the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 was unveiled recently at an event in Cambodia. Though the bike, which is the smaller sibling of the Pulsar SS400, is yet to be launched, it has been seen abroad.
The bike has not been unveiled in India but it has been caught testing in the country quite a lot of times.
The Pulsar SS200 is expected to get most of the elements from the Pulsar NS200 and it will carry over the same body kit that was found in the Pulsar SS400. The motorcycle will feature new OVRMs, new tail lamps, DRLs, dual projector headlamps and clip-on handle bars. While the side lamps have been taken from the KTM Duke 200 and 390, the rear tyre hugger is taken from the NS200.
Powering the Pulsar SS200 will be the same 200cc engine that also does duty in the NS200. It will produce 23.5bhp and 18.3Nm and it is being speculated that Bajaj might offer the bike with fuel injection and ABS (optional).
It is expected that Bajaj might introduce the Pulsar SS200 and AS200, prior to the launch of Pulsar SS400 and CS400 in the Indian market. The Bajaj Pulsar SS200 is likely to deliver a ‘super-sport’ bike-like experience and once launched in India, it will compete with Honda CBR150R and Yamaha R15 V2.0.
