Hyundai Motors dealers are now accepting bookings for the 2015 Hyundai Verna facelift that will be launched on February 16 this year. The booking amount starts from Rs. 10,000. The Verna facelift seems to have taken inspiration from the Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy and the facelifted sedan sports a new grille and a new bumper with redesigned headlights with projector beams. The Hyundai Verna facelift is expected to be priced between Rs. 7.5 lakhs to Rs. 11 lakhs.
The top end models of the Verna facelift is expected to sport a touchscreen infotainment and navigation system. The Verna facelift will continue with the same set of power mills that did duty under the hood of the pre-facelift model. The 2015 Verna facelift gets a pair of 1.4-liter petrol and diesel engines and the top end variants get a 1.6-liter petrol and diesel engines.
The Verna facelift will compete with Honda City, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Vento and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. The outgoing model of Hyundai Verna that was launched in 2011 did not appeal to the Indian buyers due to its soggy handling and dead steering feel.
2014 was a great year for Hyundai as the company recorded outstanding sales figures and the Korean carmaker is geared up to launch various products that will cater to most of the segments in the car market. The upcoming launches from Hyundai in 2015 will be two premier saloon, new Hyundai Elantra and new Hyundai Sonata, i20 Crossover and ix25 compact SUV.
With the launch of the Hyundai Verna facelift, will the Korean car maker give tough competition to its competitors in sedan segment?
