Scheduled to be launched on February 17, 2015, the Volkswagen Jetta is now available for bookings at Rs. 1 lakh. The 2015 VW Jetta is expected to be priced between Rs. 13.5 lakhs to Rs. 19 lakhs.
The 2015 VW Jetta was first unveiled at the 2014 New York Auto Show and the sedan spots minor cosmetic changes. The exteriors sport new alloy wheel pattern, triple slat grille, redesigned taillights and a front bumper with redesigned foglight enclosures.
The interiors feature an advanced infotainment system, a new three-spoke flat bottomed steering wheel and it is expected that the 2015 Jetta facelift will get new shades for the dashboard trim. At the engine front, the same set of engine options will continue under the hood of the facelifted Jetta.
The facelifted version’s petrol variant is a 1.4-liter TSI engine that produces 120 bhp and 200 Nm of torque that comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and the diesel variant is powered by a 2.0-liter TDI engine that produces 138 bhp and 320 Nm of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed manual and DSG transmission.
Assembled through CKD kits in India, the Jetta records an average monthly sales of 165 units. After its launch, the 2015 Jetta will compete with Renault Fluence, Toyota Corolla, Skoda Octavia and Hyundai Elantra in India.
