There is no doubt that the MPV segment has been doing really well in India. For quite a long time, Maruti Suzuki ruled this segment with the launch of Maruti Ertiga in April, 2012. Since then, other car makers have also been venturing into this segment. When the images of the facelifted version of Maruti Ertiga had surfaced online, GreasePress had informed its readers about Maruti Suzuki’s plans to launch the facelifted version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga in 2015.
Well, we will not stop here. As soon as, we learnt about the 2015 Maruti Ertiga, our team of designers channeled their efforts in bringing a render of the upcoming new Maruti Ertiga.
A look at the render created by our very own Prasanth P.S., gives us an impression that the 2016 Maruti Ertiga sports changes in the front upper grille, front lower grille and headlamps too have been redesigned to add a fresh look to the car. These changes are substantial enough to figure out the discrepancies between the existing model and the facelifted model of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
The exteriors seems to get mild cosmetic changes but the interiors might not get a lot of changes. The cabin is expected to retain the same upholstery and same layout that was is there in the current model.
The 2015 Maruti Suzui Ertiga is expected to continue with the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine and the 1.4-litre petrol engine, which is doing duty in the current model. Both the engines will be mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and the CNG variant is likely to be on offer in the facelifted version as well.
The 2015 Maruti Ertiga is expected to be little more expensive than the previous model and it is expected to be ranging from Rs 5.82 lakh to Rs 8.6 lakh.
With Honda Mobilio, Nissan Evalia, Chevrolet Enjoy, Toyota Innova already running on Indian roads and car makers like Datsun, Renault, Hyundai, Toyota announcing their plans to launch their respective MPVs, Maruti Suzuki will have to compete with many other players in the MPV segment. While Toyota is working towards launching its second generation Toyota Innova in 2016, Datsun, Renault and Hyundai will have a new and unseen product for the Indian MPV fans.
Stay tuned to GreasePress for more updates from the launch of the new 2015 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
