On Valentine’s Day, Honda seems to have a gift for its customers who own a Honda car that is upto 7 years old and having less than 1 lakh kms on their odometers. Honda has introduced the new extended warranty programme called the “Honda AnyTime Warranty” for its customers. Under this scheme, the Honda customers can avail the Extended Warranty anytime, if their car is not more than 7 years old (unlike the regular Extended Warranty that can be availed within 2 years from the date when the car was purchased).
The warranty can be extended by 1 year or 20,000 kms and it can be transferred in case of change in ownership. The warranty plan can be purchased one month before the expiry of existing warranty and anytime within the initial 7 years of the vehicle. . Under the new warranty scheme, the replacement or repair costs will be covered, if the vehicle is detected with any defect.
The “Honda AnyTime Warranty” programme is valid on the current models of Honda that include CR-V, City, Mobilio, Amaze and Brio and discontinued vehicles that include Accord, Civic Hybrid, Civic and Jazz.
With Honda offering an Extended Warranty programme, could we expect to see Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Toyota, and Volkswagen coming up with a similar scheme that would delight their customers?
The new Extended Warranty programme could lure the buyers (especially those who intend to buy it soon) from other brands. Are Honda rivals working towards similar offers for their customers?
