Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India will launch its latest Honda CB Unicorn 160 on December, 18 this year. The Honda CB Unicorn 160 will be launched phase by phase across the country. Unicorn 160 is expected to priced at around Rs. 68,000-70,000 (ex-showroom price). The new Honda CB Unicorn 160 will be positioned to compete against TVS Apache RTR, Yamaha FZ F1 V2.0, Suzuki Gixxer and the upcoming Hero Xtreme Sport.
This time, the company has not experimented a lot in terms of styling the bike. The new Honda CB Unicorn 160 will derive most of the styling from the Honda CB Trigger. With the latest offering, the company aims to capture a bigger market share in the medium weight bikes segment. Before coming up with the Honda Unicorn 160, the company had launched the Trigger, which failed to meet it’s expectations.
The instrument cluster has been acquired from the Trigger and the front fascia gets bike fairing. The new Honda CB Unicorn 160 gets a newly designed fuel tank, tank shrouds and new side panels. The designers of the bike chose to give the bike a black theme and the taillights get an X-shaped design. The front of the bike is linked to a disc type brake and the rear gets drum type brakes.
The latest bike from Honda Motorcycle and Scooter will get power from the balanced up version of the existing 150cc engine that will produce 15bhp of power. The Unicorn 160 will come with a five-speed manual gearbox.
Honda Unicorn was first launched in India in 2005. With the bike’s engine quality, low fuel consumption, minimum maintenance cost, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India could capture the market in the medium weight bikes segment.
