2015 DC Avanti

DC Avanti, the first sportscar designed in India by Dilip Chhabria’s DC Design is all set to get into various stages of production. In the first year, DC Design is planning to build 500 units of which 450 have already been booked and 300 units have to be exported abroad. In the next four years, the company plans to sell over 2000 units. DC Avanti was first unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo, 2012 and is priced at Rs. 40 lakh.

DC Avanti to hit Indian roads in March 2015

Powering the DC Avanti is a Renault sourced 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine that produces 260 bhp of power and 360 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in about 7 seconds and can attain a top speed of 180 km per hour. The car has a ground clearance of 170 mm.

Talking about the car’s performance, Dilip Chhabria says, “It also doesn’t have that kind of raw horse power (500 bhp). Primarily because, you don’t need that in India,” an Economic Times report quoted him as saying.
The first deliveries of the Indian sportscar will be made around March 2015. Recently, DC Avanti’s poster had surfaced online with a ‘Feel Alive’ tagline. The DC Avanti project had costed Rs. 125 crore to the company.
