According to various reports, JLR is most likely to launch Jaguar XE at the Indian Auto Expo in 2016. The official public premiere of the vehicle XE was done at the Paris Motor Show in Paris in 2014. The sales have already started in Europe but the sales are yet to start in various countries.

The magnum opus XE is expected to be powered by a 2.0 litre four cylinder ingenium engine which will offer around 161 bhp. Jaguar will be offering 6 speed transmission in international markets whereas the company plans to offer 8-speed automatic transmission in India.

The company is planning to bring in XE in the year 2016. The sales of the car have already started in Europe and will most likely start in India too early next year.

The company plans to launch XE in the mid level sedan segment which already has Audi A4 and BMW 4 series as its competitors in the segment. Around two years ago, when these cars were just launched, these cars represented the entry level cars but these cars moved a notch higher once the companies introduced some smaller models. Now, XE is one of the first cars launched by the company in this segment.

Some reports suggest that the company is most likely to find some local assembly centers in Pune where the car’s model will be locally assembled in the country.

Jaguar is known to represent quality over quantity. The company is known to represent cars which are quite exclusive as they are less in number. One of the main reasons for this is the high price of the Jaguar cars. But XE is expected to change this trend as the car is expected to be produced at a larger scale . The car is to be priced between Rs. 30 lakhs to Rs. 45 Lakhs. If the car is locally assembled then the price is expected to be reduced further. The car will be giving stiff competition to cars like Audi A4 and BMW 4 series in its segment as these cars are also priced in the same range. Now, if the car is locally assembled then the price will be reduced further and hence the  competition will be more stiff for these cars.
