Jaguar XF 2.2-litre Diesel Executive Edition launched at Rs. 45.12 lakhs

Jaguar has launched the most affordable version of Jaguar XF 2.2-litre diesel at a price of Rs. 45.12 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The new variant, which is called the ‘Executive Edition’ is about Rs. 4.5 lakh cheaper than the standard Jaguar XF 2.2L Diesel. However, the new variant sports few features.

“We are excited to introduce Jaguar XF 2.2L Diesel Executive Edition, at an attractive price point. It will enable us to access a wider audience which consists of discerning and premium Indian customers who have always loved the brand, aspired to own this sedan and be seen in it,” says Rohit Suri, Vice President of Jaguar Land Rover, India.

The Jaguar XF Executive Edition is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel motor that produces a power of 190 PS and 450Nm torque. The 4-cylinder engine of XF reacts positively to the throttle inputs and does not show any sign of hesitation. The engine is very smooth with power delivery on the linear side and minimum turbo lag. As claimed by the premium car maker, the Jaguar XF Executive Edition can accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour at a top speed of 225 km per hour. A new gearbox and smaller engine would assure better fuel economy.

The Executive edition comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission, navigation system and the other features include the electronic front seats, interior mood lighting, color touchscreen, full size spare wheel and a keyless start that is powered by the Jaguar Smart Key System.

The Executive Edition lacks the electronic sunroof, a rear camera, memory function for exterior mirror, a TV tuner and a provision to adjust the front passenger seat. The car has one exhaust pipe and 17-inch alloy wheels at the back.

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), currently, has 21 authorized dealers across 19 cities in India. The Jaguar XF Executive Edition is expected to compete with Mercedes-Benz E250 CDI, Audi A4 diesel and BMW 520d. May be with attractive pricing, Jaguar could reach to a wider set of customers in India. Even if, the Jaguar XF has a local assembly, it continues to be little more expensive than its competitors in the same segment.
