Bharat Stage IV compliant engines are being officially mandatory starting today. Due to this, Mahindra dealers are now offering the Mahindra Mojo with BS III engines at a discount of Rs.30, 000. This offer has been communicated by the dealers itself. Mahindra Mojo is one of the popular off road tourer motorcycles. It gets its suspension from an upside down front fork and monoshock gas charged suspension at the rear. The tyres both at the front as well as the rear are tubeless and are from the make Pirelli Diablo Rosso II. The braking duties are done by a 320 mm disc up front and with radial calipers and 240 mm disc at the rear with a floating caliper. There is a twin exhaust layout attached to the system to make the sound throaty and good.
The Mahindra Mojo tourer is powered by a single cylinder, liquid cooled fuel injected engine that boasts a displacement of 295 cc. The engine is enough to generate a maximum power of 28 bhp at 8,000 revolutions per minute and a peak torque of 30 Nm at 5,500 revolutions per minute. This power plant is mated to a 6-speed transmission gearbox. That said, even though the engine looks weighty, the motorcycle has a dry weight of not more than 165 kgs.
Apart from the four metros (Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata), Mojo is also on sale in Ahmadabad, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Chennai, Gurgaon, Goa, Indore, Hyderabad Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow, Madurai, Nagpur, Vijayawada and Visakapatnam. More Tier-II cities would join the list in near future. Addition of new cities to the list shows that Mahindra has ramped up the manufacture of its sports tourer at the Pithampur plant in Madhya Pradesh. A low-priced variant of the Mojo will soon be launched, without the USD, Pirelli tyres, dual exhaust, etc. This will be launched as a BSIV variant.
The Mahindra Mojo is priced at Rs.1, 69,870 exclusive showroom (Delhi) without the discount applied. After the discount is made, the price would go down considerably.
