MapmyIndia, a solution provider for high quality digital maps, GPS Tracking Enterprise GIS Solutions, GPS navigation, mobile applications and Location Aware web applications has inked a deal with Tata Motors to offer GPS navigation in Tata motor’s upcoming hatchback, Tata Bolt.
MapmyIndia has deployed a technology that allows the company’s navigation application layer in the smartphone to sync with the car’s head unit. Customers intending to buy a Tata Bolt, sometime next year will get a MapmyIndia Navigation app, which is specially coded for integration between the in-dash screen and the smartphone. With a customized in-car kit, Tata Motors’ customers will now be able to navigate to different destinations across India.

With the GPS navigation facility which will now be found inbuilt in the Tata Bolt cars, Bolt customers can search for 10.54 million unique destinations, expanded coverage of over 2 million kilometers of road network, 600000 villages and 3D & 2D landmarks in 86 cities, 7068 cities at street level with house address level data for 80 cities. The latest MapmyIndia maps offer localized maps with voice guiding system.
MapmyIndia is already providing navigation facilities to well-known brands like Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Mercedes, BMW, Ford, Mahindra, Jaguar and Land Rover (JLR). As MapmyIndia’s maps are used by a majority of people in India, the partnership between MapmyIndia and Tata motors will strengthen the position of MapmyIndia in the country.
