The Maruti S-Cross that is already on sale in Europe will be available in India soon. In terms of price and positioning, the S-Cross will compete against Renault Duster and Ford Ecosport.The S-Cross’s front will get a two-slat job replacing the three salt grille. The back will get chrome trimmings on the tail lamps. The S-Cross will comprise of a VXi/VDi and a ZXi/ZDi trim.
While the VXi/VDi trim is expected to be available with 10-spoke alloy wheels and halogen headlamps, the Z-variants is expected to include mirror-mounted indicators, LED daytime running lamps, project headlamps and 14-spoke alloys.
The Maruti S-Cross has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm and has a length of 4,300 mm, width of 1,765 mm and a height of 1,575 mm. Boot size is 430 litres and 875 litres with the 60:40 split rear seats folded down.
The Maruti S-Cross, which is available with a 1.6 liter diesel engine in Europe, would be powered by a 1.3 liter oil burner with VGT turbo (the one found in the Maruti Ertiga and Maruti Ciaz.
Maruti Suzuki is also working towards the launch of a 7-seater Maruti Wagon R. The company is also working towards launching the facelifted version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
