The present generation Maruti Suzuki Swift has been one of the most popular cars in India and the model is all set to receive a gen change next year when the all-new model will make its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo. With the model nearing the end of its life-cycle, the Indian auto hulk has noiselessly presented a new Swift Limited Edition variant in the market. The limited edition Maruti Suzuki Swift is priced at Rs.5.45 lakh for the petrol version, and Rs.6.34 lakh (all-prices, ex-showroom Delhi) for the diesel version. The hatchback gets a host of cosmetic enhancements and feature upgrades on the limited edition model.

Fascinatingly, the Maruti Swift is not succeeded by a fancy limited-edition name like some earlier versions out there. This time you get new decals across the bonnet, doors and roof; while the cabin has been spruced up with matching seat upholstery and steering wheel to match the exterior decals. Maruti has also added a touchscreen infotainment system from the likes of the Baleno, Ignis and S-Cross into the Swift limited-edition, which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with Bluetooth connectivity. The feature is certainly welcome, considering the limited edition model is positioned between the base LXi/LDi and mid-level VXi and VDi variants. The advert also lists speakers with extra bass and carpet mats as new features on the Maruti Swift Limited special Edition. Engine options stay the same with the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines powering the hatchback. The petrol motor makes about 83 bhp and 115 Nm of highest torque, while the diesel makes 74 bhp and top torque of 190 Nm. The car is accessible with a 5-speed manual gearbox on both engines.

The limited edition version can be seen as a last hurrah for the highly popular Swift. The car has time and again proved itself to be client friendly with its sporty driving dynamics and frugal engines. The next gen model promises to take all of that a notch higher along with more equipment, better materials and newer engines. Maruti will be revealing the new generation Swift at the Auto Expo next year, and the limited edition model is a clever way to clear stocks of the current one.
