Mitsubishi Concept XR-PHEV II revealed; to make its global debut at 2015 Geneva Motor Show

The official renderings of Mitsubishi’s Concept XR-PHEV II that was scheduled to make its international debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, has been revealed by the company. The Concept XR-PHEV II, which was unveiled at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show is a progress on the original XR-PHEV concept.

The body design of the Mitsubishi Concept XR-PHEV II is largely dominated by the trapezoidal lower grille. The air vents get chrome grills and the headlights, alloys and upper grille are tweaked. The car also get door mounted cameras.

The Concept XR-PHEV II is powered by the conventional engine that works in sync with the 160 bhp electric motor and 12 kWh battery. As claimed by the company, the Concept XR-PHEV II is very economical and also results in lower emissions.

Depending on the battery level and driving conditions, the Concept XR-PHEV II can switch from an all-electric mode to hybrid or parallel hybrid mode. The Driving mode can be manually selected by choosing either Battery Charge or Battery Save.

In terms of dimensions, the crossover is 4490mm long, 1890mm wide and 1620mm tall and it also sports wheelbase of 2670mm. As per Mitsubishi, the new Concept XR-PHEV II previews an Outlander PHEV and a production model.
