MV Agusta unveiled the S America 750 bike in 1975. It was powered by a 787.7cc inline four-cylinder air-cooled engine. It shaped 75PS and was based on the 1973 750 S. 42 years down the line, the ‘America’ tag will once again be associated with the MV Agusta logo. For the first time on an MV Agusta bike, the America livery will be black. The first 50 bikes manufactured will be supplied for the USA market. They will be numbered special editions and Euro 4-compliant. The MV Agusta Brutale 800 America will be officially revealed during the WSBK race weekend from July 7-9, 2017, at the Californian Laguna Seca track. According to MV Agusta, the Brutale 800 America’s seat has been specially designed to enhance comfort and the seat lining makes use of two materials, each of which is characterized by a special finish. To make the bike exclusive, the bike gets triple clamps with its laser-cut ‘America Special Edition’ sequential production number. The same number is also mentioned on the certificate which is housed in a smart wooden-Plexiglas frame and will be given to each owner. The first MV Agusta 3-cylinder bike to carry the America colour scheme is based on the 2017 Brutale 800. The bike is powered by a 798cc three-cylinder engine which develops 110PS @ 11,500rpm and a peak torque of 83Nm @ 7,600rpm, mated to a six speed gearbox.
It gets integrated ignition system MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) with three injectors, an engine control unit, ride by wire, torque control system with four maps and traction control with eight levels of intervention. The bike is nestled on an ALS Steel tubular trellis frame with aluminum alloy rear swing arm. Suspension duties are handled by 43mm USD telescopic forks with rebound compression clamping and spring preload with 125mm travel at the front and a Sachs monoshock unit with rebound and compression damping with 124mm travel at the rear. The bike gets dual 320mm floating discs with 4-piston Brembo radial type calliper at the front and a single 220mm disc with 2-piston Brembo calliper at the rear. The Brutale 800 America is shod with 120/70 R17 tyre at the front and 180/55 R17 tyre at the rear. It gets thermoplastic fairing to reduce weight. The bike gets a 16.5-litre fuel tank, weighs 175kg and gets 830mm of saddle height. The bike will go on sale in USA for $14,998 (Rs.9.69 lakh). The MV Agusta Brutale 800 America is marketed by MV Agusta USA LLC and governed by Urban Motor Group Pty Ltd. through a special business unit. The new organization has been set up to look after the USA operations.
