Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) revealed the new Land Rover Discovery SUV in September last year. Currently in its fifth generation, the new Discovery is now headed to India, with a launch that is likely to take place soon. Ahead of its awaiting launch, an image shared on a social media channel by a JLR owners and Fans group discloses the prices of the SUV in India. The image suggests that bookings for the new Discovery are now open in India for two days, though an exclusive booking platform valid only on 7th and 8th August, 2017. The Indian arm of the British marque will open pan-India bookings for the new Discovery after an official declaration on 9th August. JLR India, through the image, is said to have brought the new Discovery in the country with a price tag of Rs.68.05 lakh (ex-showroom).
Based on Land Rover’s full-size SUV construction, a few highlights of the new Discovery include full LED headlamps (a first for the brand), horizontal tail lights and a stepped roofline. Globally, the Discovery features heated seats in all three rows, cooled seats for the first two rows and massage function in the driver and front passenger seat. The company also offers a water-resistant Activity key which permits clients to enjoy sports or other activities without the need to carry the key fob. Internationally, the new Discovery is available with three engine options, all paired to an eight speed ZF automatic transmission. The twin turbo Sd4 Ingenium four cylinder diesel engine produces 240 PS and 500 Nm of torque while the six cylinder diesel engine produces 258 PS and 600 Nm of torque. The 3.0-litre, V6 supercharged petrol engine is tuned to harvest 340 PS and 450 Nm of torque.
