News about Renault’s plans to launch its Lodgy MPV is already rife and now a Motoroids reader has snapped the Renault Grand Scenic MPV in Chennai. However, the French automaker is not in a hurry to introduce the Grand Scenic in India.
Renault is all set to launch the Renault Lodgy MPV in two variants- Lodgy and Lodgy Stepway in early 2015. The Stepway variant will feature rugged looks with skid guards, body cladding and roof rails. Lodgy MPV will be powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder diesel engine but the company is yet to confirm about the launch of the petrol variant of the MPV.
The price of the Lodgy is expected to be competitive as the company plans to use plenty of components that are used in the Duster (Duster components are localized in India).
The Renault Grand Scenic is expected to have come to India for benchmarking purposes either by the French automaker or any other Indian automaker. Renault currently offers five models in India that include Koleos, Duster, Scala, Fluence and Pulse. The company has its manufacturing facility in Oragadam near Chennai.
