Chetan Maini quits as CEO of Mahindra Reva

Mahindra & Mahindra has declared the changes at the top level management of its electric car division, Mahindra Reva. Mahindra Reva’s CEO, Chetan Maini has been replaced by Arvind Mathew, a post graduate in Mechanical engineering and an MBA from the Michigan University. Mathew has worked for over two decades with Ford Motor Company.

At Ford India, he is credited for developing new vehicles and powertrain programme and in 2005, he was appointed as the President and Managing Director of Ford India. Prior to joining Mahindra Reva, Mathew was the CEO of Tata Advanced Materials Ltd.

Maini has now moved to a new and diversified role within the company and both the top level executives will take over their respective positions from May 1, 2015.

Maini founded the Reva Electric Car Company in 1994, which was acquired by Mahindra & Mahindra in 2010. He will now be responsible for leading other technology initiatives of the Group and incubating new technology ventures.

“He will continue to be associated with Mahindra Reva and Formula-E Racing in an advisory capacity,” as per a statement released by the company.
