Scania launches its range of powerful on-road trucks in India
Scania Commercial Vehicles India has launched its range of powerful on-road trucks at the Bauma ConExpo 2014, held in Delhi today. The company showcased the Scania R 580 V8 (6×4) truck and the Scania P410 (8X4) Tipper that has got new 20 cubic meter SSAB body. Besides that, the company also launched Scania Oil and Scania Fleet Management (enhanced telematics services). Scania also showcased its flexible container concept that is ideal for repairs and services purposes in remote places.
For the first time in India, Scania has introduced the Scania R 580 6×4 powered by a V8 engine. Even at low speed, the vehicle will offer high torque, which is ideal for over-dimensional cargo (ODC) transport. Though the details of the power output is yet to be declared, the Scania R580 is said to be the most powerful on-road truck on sale in India.
The existing product of the company, the Scania P 410 8×4 Tipper will now be equipped with 20 cubic meter rock body that is developed by SSAB, the world’s leading producer of high strength steel. The Scania P410 Tipper is widely adopted in the Indian mining sector. The Tipper has got lesser weight when compared with the other offerings in the market. The Tipper has huge load carrying capacity.
The company will also make the Scania Oil available to its customers. The Scania oil which prevents from sludge and adherence besides protecting the vehicle from corrosion will be available both as engine oil as well as gear and axle oil.
