The test mule of Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS was recently spotted by an Indian Autos Blog reader, while it was being tested near Pune, Maharashtra. It is expected that, Bajaj could launch the 200 AS in India this year to strengthen its market presence, however, the company has not spoken much about this product.
Mechanically, the 200 AS is expected to be similar to that of the 200 NS. The 200 AS will be powered by a single cylinder, 199.5 cc, triple spark engine that produces 23.15 bhp and 18.3 Nm and comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS is expected to sport telescopic forks at the front and monoshock at the rear. The bike’s front also gets a 280 mm single disc and its rear gets a 230 mm disc that provides deceleration.
The company plans to position the 200 AS between the 200 NS and the upcoming 200 SS and it will be priced between these two products. It is also expected that, the 200 AS could replace the 220F in the company’s line-up.
Bajaj India has already announced its plans to launch six new products in the domestic market by the first half of this year. It is yet to be confirmed if the company will launch the 200 AS in the first half of this year.
