According to a report on Autocar India, the new Yamaha scooter was caught testing in India. The scooter sports a new design and features a curvaceous look. The scooter looks very different from previous products offered by Yamaha in India. It looks bigger than the available models like the Ray and Alpha and seeing the vehicle’s size, it is expected that the scooter could get a more powerful engine.
It is expected that, the scooter (in spy shots) will compete with Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access, Vespa’s VX125, Swish duo and Mahindra Rodeo. A set of front indicators fit into the raked front apron of the scooter and there’s nifty chrome accents on the scooter and rear view mirror housings. The instruments bay is remarkably large and it is expected that the new Yamaha scooter could offer the front filling pod that is placed near the handlebar.
It is likely to be powered by a 4-stroke, air engine, carburetor fed and with electric and kick start options. The engine displacement is expected to range between 113cc to 125cc. The Yamaha scooter seems to be spacious enough for the rider and pillion with lockable saddle.
The new scooter from Yamaha is likely to offer a telescopic front suspension, traditional monoshock bolted to the drivetrain and drum brakes.
