Skoda Octavia has been one of the premiere sedan cars in India since it was launched in the country. Hence, according to dependable sources, the 2017 edition of Octavia, with mild facelift, will be launched in India by June 2017. Similar to the existing generation, the new gen trim will also be collected locally in Aurangabad. The interiors of the 2017 Skoda Octavia looks very related to the present generation version. The instrument cluster wears resemblance to the design seen in the Skoda Superb. However, it is not yet set whether the India bound trim will get the same Columbus navigation and 9.2 inch capacitive touchscreen display which is given in the top end Euro bound version.
The most prominent alterations on the face lifted Skoda Octavia are found in the exteriors. There is a new quartet LED headlights cluster that renders uniqueness among its class. The front grille is slightly revised to get Skoda’s trademark butterfly shape, along with a fog lamps and reshaped bumper. The tail lights are now powered by LED lamps. As for the mechanism, the 2017 Skoda Octavia will be getting the same engine as the existing model has. There will be a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine and a 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine. The transmission option will include a 6 speed manual transmission, a 6 speed DSG auto and a 7 speed DSG auto gear transmission.
The biggest difference between the two cars is the split headlight arrangement on the new car that gives it a more aggressive appearance. The bumpers have also been revised a bit but otherwise the exterior doesn’t feature a whole lot of changes. Skoda is also planning a comeback for the extra powerful Octavia vRS. The Octavia vRS will be getting a 2.0 litre TSI engine which will be able to produce a highest power of 230 bhp. The company claims that it will be able to an acceleration of 0-100 kms per hour in mere 6.7 seconds and will have a top speed of nearby 250 kms per hour.
