The Benelli TNT 135 was first showcased at the 2015 EICMA Show. But the mini motorbike is yet to hit the Indian shore. Benelli’s parent firm, Group Qianjiang is interested in introducing the motorcycle in India. The mini-bike met a lot of expectation and buzz but the company is unsure what type of demand will the bike receive. Honda had launched the Navi mini-bike last year and it found buyers thanks to its relatively low price.
The Benelli TNT 135 is a mini motorcycle similar to the Honda’s Navi regarding looks and size. The TNT 135 draws power from a 134.7cc engine producing 13bhp and 10.8Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission.
However, the Benelli TNT 135 comes with mechanisms like upside-down front forks and a twin-pipe exhaust. It also gets a Trellis frame and fat tyres and due to this, the TNT 135 will not be just cheap. If Benelli prices the bike above Rs.1.20 lakhs, then it will again have to fight with a lot of tough competition.
Hence, DSK Benelli has postponed the launch of the TNT 135 in India for a few months now and they are conducting an extensive market research to study the feasibility of launching it here.
Considering the dimension of the TNT 135, the motorbike won’t come at an affordable price. If at all the TNT 135 is launched in India, it will carry a price tag of around Rs.1.35 lakh to Rs.1.5 lakh. And this is the primary concern for DSK-Benelli.
