New Aston Martin Vantage revealed

A company backed by Nest co-founder Tony Fadell is taking Andy Rubin's startup to court.


Aston Martin today lastly dragged the wraps off the new Vantage sports coupe. The new sports car from the British automaker comes with an imposing stance, sharp design and styling and exhilarating V8 engine under the hood. As of now, the new Aston Martin Vantage has formally gone on sale in the UK (120,900 Pounds), and the US ($149,995). The automaker has announced that it will start the distributions of the car from the second quarter of the 2018 calendar year. Visually, the new Aston Martin Vantage takes some encouragement from the automaker’s DB10 concept. The car gets a typical design language that flaunts its bold sculpted profile and the subtle character lines that enhance the overall look of the car. The most projecting design element is the new grille which comes with a characteristic silky black border that protruded out of the grille and is attached to the bumper lip. Furthermore, the minimal front design and rear overhangs muscular flanks and broad haunches add to the sporty character of the car. While up front, the car comes with a sleek pair of LED headlight, it’s the back portion of the car that correctly stands out with the stylish full width LED tail lamp with stop tail and dynamic indicator functions. The sculpted back bumper comes with a comparable silky black design element as the front, which along with the grille of the 2 exhaust pipes.

Aston Martin says that aerodynamic performance was central to the design of the Vantage. The front splitter upfront leads airflow beneath the car, where a system of fences channels freezing air where it is needed, and also ensures the rear diffuser is fed with clean airflow. Furthermore, the new side gills, which have been integrated into the body surface and bleed air pressure out from the front wheel arches. The car also comes with a pronounced upswept back deck lid, which along with the above-mentioned elements makes a important level of down force. As for the cabin, the Vantage gets a dynamic and focused sports car cockpit that comes with sharp lines denoting the more aggressive nature of the car. You get sporty seats with premium leather upholstery in dual tone pattern. A high waist interior theme and lower driving position creates a more immersive driving experience and contributes to significant gains in occupant space and significant improvement in headroom compared with the outgoing Vantage. Moreover, there is a bunch of rotary and toggle style tactile controls that make driving the car all the more intuitive. Other features include a keyless start/stop, tyre pressure monitoring system, parking distance display, park assist and front and rear parking sensors. The car gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

As mentioned before the new Aston Martin Vantage is powered by 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that makes develops 503 bhp at 6000 rpm and 685 Nm from 2000-5000 rpm. The impressive power and The Aston Martin Vantage can go from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 314 kmph. The new Vantage is also the first Aston Martin to get an electronic back difference (E-Diff). It is linked to the car’s electronic stability control system and can understand the car’s behavior, and react accordingly to direct the engine’s power to the relevant wheel. The car also gets Adaptive Checking System which joins Skyhook technology and offers the choice of Sport, Sport Plus and Track modes.
