Audi A3 Cabriolet's India launch scheduled on December 11, 2014

Audi has launched its Audi A3 Cabriolet in India at a price of Rs. 44.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Audi A3 Cabriolet was first unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo in early 2014. Audi A3 Cabriolet resembles the A3 sedan with a soft top. The latest model from Audi features LED tail lamps, bi-xenon headlamps with daytime running LEDs.

The interiors feature a 7-inch infotainment system with Audi’s MMI and a touch pad. Among the other features are the front seats that can be adjusted electrically and dual zone climate control.

The model that has been launched in India is powered by a 1.8-litre TFSI petrol engine that produces 177bhp and 280Nm. Audi A3 Cabriolet has a seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The automatic fabric roof of the A3 Cabriolet can be operated electro-hydraulically in 18 seconds, even when the car is at a speed of 50 kms per hour. Audi brings the A3 Cabriolet as Completely Built Units (CBUs) to India and that is the reason, the A3 Cabriolet is more expensive than the regular A3 sedan (built locally).

In the overseas market, Audi sells Audi A3 Cabriolet in two large capacity and two small capacity engine options. The two large capacity engine options include the 1.8 TFSI & 2.0 TFSI engines and the two small capacity engine options include the 1.4 TFSI and 1.6 TDI engines.

The company plans to introduce the hatchback model of A3 in India in early 2015.
