2018 Discover 110 launch soon, reaches at dealers

A company backed by Nest co-founder Tony Fadell is taking Andy Rubin's startup to court.

Having declared upgrades for the Pulsar series for MY2018, Bajaj Auto will soon introduce upgrades for the Discover range. The bike maker will soon launch a new Discover 110 variant to the commuter family, while the Discover 125 is all set to get cosmetic upgrades as well, as per the latest spy images emerged online. The Bajaj Discover 110 will sit above the current Platina in the company’s stable and will take on a host of commuter offerings including the TVS Victor, Hero Passion Pro, Honda Dream series and the likes.

The 110-cc executive commuter segment is exceptionally popular as well as volume approachable too and Bajaj was missing out on the action. The new Discover 110 is expected to use a completely new diamond single downtube frame that will replace the downtube cradle frame. The new chassis will not be only be lighter but offer better feedback as well, thereby offering improved fuel efficiency. The biggest change, however, will be the chassis. Gone is the downtube cradle frame and in comes a diamond single downtube frame as seen in the images here. This should drop the weight of the Bajaj Discover significantly, thereby resulting in increased performance and efficiency. Suspension, though, remains the same as before, telescopic forks up front and twin gas charged shocks at the rear.

The 110cc motor in the Discover is expected to output 9 PS of power, 9 Nm of torque and come mated to a 4-speed gearbox. The Discover 125, on the other hand, will continue to be powered by the same 2-valve single-cylinder 125cc DTS-i motor that produces 11 PS and 10.8 Nm of torque. The Discover brand will be slotted above the Platina and CT 100 and below the V.
