Bajaj Pulsar RS 400 spotted or is it RS 200 with new color scheme

A company backed by Nest co-founder Tony Fadell is taking Andy Rubin's startup to court.


Red has always been a color which has appealed a certain section of motto enthusiasts. When Bajaj launched the new Pulsar RS 200 previous this year, it was only offered in 2 color options – Blue / White and Grey / Black. The Red and Yellow color options were discontinued. This left some motto enthusiasts upset. But seems like demand for the red color variant has not stopped and Bajaj might re-launch a new red color variant soon. A new red color variant of the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 was spotted on test recently in Pune by our reader Mr Tripathi. The fully faired Bajaj Pulsar RS200 new red color options gets dash of black dual tone, adding to its masculine looks. If you ask us, Red Black Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 looks significantly better than its current counterparts. It also gets alloys finished in red.

Bajaj Pulsar RS200 in Red Black is powered by a 199.5-cc single cylinder fuel injected engine offering 24.5 PS power at 9,750 rpm and 18.6 Nm torque at 8,000 rpm mated to a 6 speed gearbox, as also seen on the red and yellow colored Pulsar RS200. Sporting telescopic front forks, monoshock at the rear and 300mm and 230mm brake discs at front and rear, Bajaj Pulsar RS200 gets Bosch single channel ABS unit as an option. Top speed claimed by the company stands at 141 kmph.

Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is priced from Rs.1.23 lakh for non-ABS variant and Rs.1.35 lakh for the ABS variant. Ever since the launch of the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 in March 2015, the company has received a decent response. It is also possible that this is the 400 cc variant of the Pulsar. Bajaj Pulsar SS 400 was showcased as a concept at the 2014 Auto Expo. Now, it is believed that the RS 400 is a production ready variant of this concept, which could debut early next year, around the Auto Expo period. Pulsar 400 will be powered by a KTM Duke 390 derived engine. It will be more powerful than the Dominar and will sit above the Dominar in the company line up. Expect power output to be in the range of 40 PS and torque to be in the range of 35 Nm. ABS as well as Non ABS variant will be on offer. Price is expected to be in the Rs.1.8 lakh range.
